FEATURE - Spring Entertainers Retreat
Better Homes & Gardens Revisits our Newtown Project
We got to revisit one of our very first projects recently with Jason from Better Homes & Gardens. Our Newtown project has grown out nicely over time and developed in to a beautiful retreat for it’s occupants. You can watch the full segment over on Yahoo 7 skip to 2:50 minutes see the project.
The garden was designed by Adam Robinson Design and constructed by Quercus Gardens. Mixtures of sandstone and bluestone combine beautifully to create a soft palette to compliment the lush greenery.
The brief for this outdoor space was to create a tranquil retreat which could be used for entertainment and relaxation. To do this, the large entertainment are has been divided in to three distinct areas each with different purposes. There is the comfy day bad as you enter the space, a large dinning and entertainment area and a cute and comfy casual lounge area at the rear of the space.
The sun bed has been strategically placed so that it remains exposed to the sunshine but is partially shaded by the larger palms and plants lining the fence. The casual lounge area at the rear is tucked away amongst the foliage and greenery for a that little bit of extra privacy.
To make the best use of the larger dinning area the edge of the garden has been raised on one side to create a retaining wall which doubles as an extended seating area. The seated are runs along the length of the space and turns along a second side to allow for 10 to 15 people to be seated, perfect for entertaining
A garden shed has been cleverly hidden with a beautiful wooden screening wall, keeping the tools and extras out of sight. To create interest and draw your eye down, irregular stone steppers surrounded by green ground coverage are placed in the pathway which leads to the entertaining space. We hope you love this space as much as we do.
