Silver Dollar Fern

Adiantum Peruvianum

The Silver Dollar Maidenhair is an extremely attractive evergreen fern that looks like a Maidenhair with oversized foliage.  Each pinnule is large, oval-shaped and flat growing on delicate, very fine black stems.

This fern is native to Peru and is quite hardy with new growth displaying a pale green with a sometimes-pinkish hue, later turning darker green.  The fronds spread and hang gracefully. A humus rich moist soil is best and place in a cool shaded area that is not exposed to windy conditions.

Dappled light is fine but no direct sun and the key is to never let the soil dry out. This is a perfect plant to grow indoors as well.
