The 'Blue Ginger'

Dichorisandra thyrsiflora or Blue Ginger A tropical plant which resembles ginger in growth and habit, is a highly decorative plant which is great in protected areas or pots. It’s a great hardy filler plant for shady gardens with an incredible prolific purple flower.

The stunning clustered flower heads are vibrant purple-blue and appear atop of spiralled, ginger-like stems of leaves, which often have purplish undersides. It needs abundant water, and keep soil moist, don’t let it dry out between waterings. It is suitable for growing indoors too.
